Architectural Partners completed a Comprehensive Master Plan for the Virginia Episcopal School in 2000, developing both short-term and long-term goals and projects. One of the highest priorities was the rebuilding of Pope Stadium, the school’s beautiful but aging track and football venue. The design was begun in 2006 and the project completed in September 2008. The school now has a high-quality synthetic surface track surrounding a completely rebuilt football field with improved drainage and turf conditions, brick enclosed bleacher seating for 275 fans, home and visitor coach review rooms, handicapped accessible toilets, and concessions and a plaza picnic area. The area is framed by a natural bowl of mature hardwood trees that display an incredible array of Fall colors……the perfect backdrop for a prep league Saturday football game for the home team.
